This course has numerous trees lining its fairways. One of the reasons the course plays so difficult is because of the many elevation changes. The course was rated by "GOLF Magazine" as one of the top ten best new courses in the Country for 1989. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 7th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. There is a VIP discount card available.

| Simply put, it is resort golf with out the high price tag. The approach to the club house will bring you to a very friendly greeter who will load your clubs on your cart. (Carts are required, but you would be crazy to try and walk this course anyway, very hilly and long distances between tees.)The Clubhouse is well kept, fully stocked, and is beautifully surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Once on the course there are 6 different tee areas on each hole to match your skill level. You will need accuracy as a premium on this course as there are alot of blind landing areas. The first time you play it, expect some rough going. Not a terribly long course, but the black tees will give you all you can handle at 7200+ yards. Use the GPS system on the carts to tell you exactly how far out you are and be ready to take elevation changes into consideration as you make your club selection. Any day spent on this course will be a good one, even if your score does not reflect it. Unless you are among golf's elite, expect this course to add 2-3 strokes on to your average round. I would definatly recommend giving the Amana Colonies GC a try. If you go durring a weekday, there are specials to get you on the course for under 30.00 including a cart, and that my friends is a great deal. Hit'em long & straight : ) |

One of the best in Iowa, Feb 19, 2004

| Carved out of 300 acres of oak trees, 72 bunkers, and three lakes, this course is as beautiful as you will find in the State of Iowa. Carts with GPS Yardage are a must on this hilly terrain. You had best bring your "A" game with you, if you plan to score from the back tees. Only three of eighteen holes have scattered housing, so the natural setting is enhanced by frequent deer and wild turkey sightings. Once played, you will want to play it again. |
