Excellent Challenging 9-hole Course, Mar 27, 2007

This is one of the best 9-hole courses I have played in recent years. There is only one 9-hole course that is better (Lake Tapps, WA). The course is not long but challenges approach and short parts of an individual's game. This would be a great training course for the young golfer or a course to humble those who believe the long drive is the most important part of the game. Worth the stop while driving through the area.

I have played this course at least twice a year for the past 25 years and I have to give them credit for a well manicured course. The greens are always in good shape and it is a very competitive course. Go Griz

Great course, Jul 16, 2004

While I haven't had the opportunity to play the course in American Falls, my good buddy David Burt says the course is great. (I credit Dave, by the way, for my complete domination of eight major championships due to his expert guidance, such as his recent advice to keep my head down, get rid of that stupid Nike driver, and stopping my caddie Steve from strangling anymore off-duty officers with a penchant for snapping photos at the worst possible times.) So, if Dave says the course is great, then I say it's great.

This is a fantastic par 3 course for the money. The top nine is all par 3 with a great chance to work on the irons and putts. Water is present but not a threat for a straight drive. The bottom starts with an awesome par 4 that tees off from the hill behind the clubhouse. Reachable with a driver and accuracy. More water on the bottom nine that could cause some lost balls if you are not on your game. Greens are more than fair. Not to fast but depending on weather can be faster than they look. No sand around the holes and hopefully that will change in the future. I use this course frequently for training as well as a quick round of golf without the hassel of a larger course. The driving range is very well kept and the price for a bucket is the cheapest in town that I know of. The practice green is fantastic and allows for many different approaches to a hole to be practiced. The pro shop stocks many items including a complete PING fitting area. Refeshments, including soft drinks, food, and beer are avaialable at a cost designed to leave you money to come back and play another day. This course is a proud sponser of youth golf as well as senior golf. Very family oriented.

Clayton Park Golf Course
"Local Hidden Gem"
This is a fine local course for working on your irons. Even as a (60 year old) senior, I seldom use more than a 5 wood here. No sand, and water barely comes into play on one hole. Drastic elevation changes on the par 3 second and third holes. Course is wide open and wind can sometimes be a factor. Great for sharpening your skills before taking on regulation courses or for a pleasant 2 to 3 hours outdoors.
