This course has water hazards (six ponds) coming into play on seven holes. The greens are large sized, and very undulating, and what the course lacks in length, it makes up for by testing golfers' shotmaking ability with tight fairways. Well placed tee shots are a must. In addition to their well-maintained course, the club boasts of having a practice putting green that is 15,000 square feet. The facility also offers a lighted putting green.

Good Value Golf, Aug 17, 2005

I played this course while visiting NH and there were numerous LARGE puddles on the course (it had rained the night before) and the greens were spongy. The place was not crowded at all and as a single I was able to get extra practice in the form of second and third shots and extra time on the tough, undulating greens. It seemed much shorter than the stated yardage, however. The practice putting area and driving range are very nice. I would return.

"Hidden jewel"
This course is in the middle of the upper peninsula of Michigan. It is simply the best course I ever played for the money. Quick and true greens were very well maintained (How did they attract such a talented Superintendent). Very challenging holes that do not duplicate themselves. Laid back atmosphere--no pressures!

Liberty Country Club
"Great Condition and Layout"
This course has a beautiful layout and hole construction. Similar to the old "country club" style courses, this smaller operation club gets the job done with what must be a low budget because the course is just in outstanding shape. The bent-grass fairways look good all year round and maintain their grass even in the hot summer afternoons of August. They also had great deals available for play during the week and for people wanting to have an outing. I'm definitely going to play at the Liberty Country Club again.

Woodcrest Country Club
"Woodcrest Country Club"
Woodcrest Country Club is not a long hitters course, but rather accuracy is rewarded. Woodcrest is famous for its rough, so keeping it in the Fairway is the play. Greens are smaller than the nouveau courses, but not the undulating and overly tricky type either. My friends who are low handicappers tell me that the course is tough but fair, and conservative play is best. Higher handicappers like me know the value of course management here.
