This course has open fairways, elevated tee boxes, and excellent greens. The course is located in a rural community and has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The course is fairly tight, so you need to be aware of golfers on adjacent fairways. There are three ponds coming into play on two holes.

| Great course for everyone! Very relaxing. Wonderful Staff!!!!!!!!!! Hole 7 a.k.a "the ball eater" is pretty good for touching up on your game. Front nine is more forgiving than back. |

| The greens are pretty good. The fairways are mostly dry, dead grass. Be sure to play the course with someone who knows the layout - sometimes the next tee is not in an obvious location. You get what you pay for - not much cost - not much course. |

Fun time, Jul 06, 2005 |

| Similk will never make a Top 10 list for beauty, course design or playability, but it should be on the list of fun courses. For beginning golfers, there may not be a better full-sized, 18-hole track in the state. Lots of wide open spaces, so big hitters will have a great time. (There are reachable par-4's and eagles to be had on par 5's.) One note: this course can be dangerous for the uninitiated. There are several criss-crossing fairways and elevated tees that have you hitting over the heads of golfers below. The course still uses the dreaded rubber mats in places, too. But if you are looking for a course to use the driver and score low, Similk is a real confidence booster! |
