This course is nestled in the coastal highlands and is a shotmaker's delight. The opening hole, a 526-yard, par 5, is an example of what the player will face throughout the day. With only one par 5 measuring more than 500 yards, it would appear that birdies would come easily. But, accuracy and not distance is the key when playing this course. The course has several well-designed holes, including #9 and #18, which crawl back to the clubhouse parallel to each other. The greens are fast and undulating, and the fairways are lined with mature trees. Water hazards come into play on a couple of holes. This course has been redesigned three times since it was originally built, the latest by Garrett Gill and George B. Williams in the early 1990's. There is a separate green fee rate for Friday's. On Sunday, this facility serves a Sunday Brunch in its restaurant.

Awesome day at Seascape, Jul 11, 2006

Last summer my son and I played Pasatiempo, DeLaveago, and Seascape, in that order. We enjoyed all three and felt like we topped off the trip with the most fun course of all. Saw a few baby deer (fawn?), had a very nice lady from the drink cart taking care of us, and enjoyed a day in the sun with my son. Dollar for dollar this course was tops. Only have a chance to play once this year so Seascape it its.

This is a great course. Though it is not that long it requires accurate drives and great putting (some of the best greens around). Ask to get on their email list for good rates.

Mill Creek Golf Club
"Living and Playing Mill Creek"
I chose to live in the Mill Creek Community after playing Mill Creek Golf Course. The course is long enough to challenge the low handicapper while allowing the average golfer to handily compete. While each hole presents its unique challenge, holes 7, 9, and 15 can be particularly formidable. Hole 7 is a reasonably short par 4, just 326 yards from the white tees and 400 yards from the championship tees, but take the ball out of the fairway -- kiss it good bye. Hole 9 (359 yards from the white tees and 439 from the championship tees) commands distance and accuracy from the tee if one expects to reach the green in two. A bed of rocks to the left of the fairway, woods to the right, and a ravine paralleling its length on the left with a wide ditch crossing the fairway about 50 yards from the green, simply command excellent club selection. Hole 15 and be a pussy cat or a bear. Wind in your face requires a long wood. Wind with you, and a five iron may place your ball in a 50 yard water and grass hazzard which crosses the fairway about 100 yards from the green. The entire course undulates and winds through just over 7000 yards from the championship tees. The fairways allow the ball to be played down while the bent greens firmness can cause many putter miscalulations. All in all, this is a great course -- especially at fees ranging from $39 - $59, cart included.

"Best Kept Secret In Texas"
I am a very experienced player who really enjoyed the great conditions and excellent design of this golf course. I later found out that it is a Bill Coore design. He is considered one of the best minimalist designers working today. The members of this course are hiding a real gem in Southeast Texas.

Crag Burn Golf Club
"A Masterpiece"
One of the best golf courses in the country. Very well balanced holes. equal amounts of doglegs left and right. Lengths vary so that almost every club in the bag is used. The rough is three feet tall if you miss the fairways. Very tough but very fair. Just simply one of the best in the USA.
