This is one of the most unusual par 3 courses you will play. Three holes feature downhill tee shots and three require uphill tee shots to the green. Walter Payton, the Hall of Fame running back for the Chicago Bears, use to run throughout the hilly terrain while training during the off-season.

| Nickol Knoll is a very unique experience. It is located high on a hill and as such, wind can become quite a factor. The course is relatively short with rolling terrain. The longest hole measures only about 149 yds. but offers a picturesque view of the green from a high, elevated tee with a small lake bordering the hole on the left. Walking is allowed, but it is mostly uphill on the second thru fourth holes. Many of the holes are well-bunkered and the greens are on the medium to fast side. The course is kept up to near immaculate conditions, which is surprising for a park district course. Very enjoyable. |
