Just outside Asheboro, this master-planned golf community is located on 367 acres of rolling countryside, nestled in amongst the Uwharrie Mountains.Designed by Mike Strantz, the par 72 course measures 6614 yards from the back tees and opened for play May of 2000.The fairways are tree-lined and wind through a picturesque landscape. The course is also home to a 200 year-old farmhouse that has been preserved on the property.

Unusual layout, lots of elev. tee boxes, Tighter front nine has boulders and sand traps spread out, lots of creek line both x'ing and along f'way. Back more open with same layout as front. Mounded tier greens. A challenge to the above-average golfer. Definitely makes you want to come back and play. 55 Senior Rate M-Th. I enjoyed the round

Deer Lake Golf Course
"The New Management has made Deer Lake GREAT"
I've been a golfer for alomost 20 years now (in North East Ohio) and it always delights me to find a course like Deer Lake. This course changed management about 3 years ago and there have been MAJOR improvements. The fairways have a much more professional feel to them and the greens are now firm and entertaining. This course has come a long, long way in the last couple of years and the new management should be congradulated. Not only that but greens fees are the lowest that I've found in the area. When you go in ask Carlo, the owner, for some of his special chili.

This course is great for beginners. Althought the course is go for starters it is also challenging. Some of the green can be quiet hard. The 5th hole in my opinion is the hardest. This course is my home course formy school golf team and it can be very hard for even some good players.
