This course was built on rolling terrain and its fast greens are undulating and hard to read. The course doesn't open on Mondays until noon. The tree-lined fairways are mostly hilly, but there are some level lies. There are water hazards that come into play on almost all the holes. The club has additional tees for junior and senior golfers of both sexes available. The ladies' par is actually 75.

It is very easy to get into trouble on this tight course. I carry an between a 17 and 18 handicap at the course and I find it the most difficult in the area. The fairways are hilly and at times a good drive can mean an unlevel second shot. The greens on a dry day are like putting on glass and certain holes like #1 and #4 are very hard to putt. Anything above the hole on an approach can make for an easy three putt green. This is a course where you have to be able to get off the tee at least 220 or you will have a long day. A beautiful course with a lot of character, the Country Club of Ashland is one of two really nice courses in Ashland County. I would recommend playing it at least once in your lifetime! Don't expect a great score on your first attempt and bring a lot of balls with you. The rough and water hazards at this course are known for swallowing them! Good luck!

Southmoore Golf Course
"Tough Day"
I played this course with my brother,(scratch) on a Saturday in September 2003. We found it easily, we paid and went thru the rather surly starter and we were off, there wasn't much of a wait on the first tee. The first couple of holes were standard, it was a rather breezy day so I was really challenged to keep my ball on our the fairway.(this would be my problem for most of the round). Nice elavation changes, and the course looked great compared to it's neighbor,(whitetail). Dogs and beer at the turn. The back nine was just as nice as the front. Immaculate greens with challenging pin positions. Afterwards it was a couple of more beers and burgers at the lounge. Good food. If we had more time we would have gone to their fine dining restaurant, got a glance at their menu, looked really nice. great sunset too! Overall a great day.

Course at Westland, The
"Nice course"
The course at Westland is a nice course but some of the holes are right on the interstate and that can be a nusense. Otherwise the course is well kept and can be a great place to play if the conditions are right. Now i have only played there about 6 times and i have gone on the best days and the worst days, the course held up on the rainy days and was indcredible on the beutiful of days. I highly recomend to go to the cours at Westland if your ever in jacksonville. diddn't think i was 13 when ya read it did ya??

Tri-Mountain Golf Course
"Great Winter Course"
I like to play this course in the winter when most of the other courses in the area are under water. It is also a great confidence building course for early-season golf. Always an enjoyable round. Oh yeah, the soup in the snack bar is awesome!
