This scenic course was built in a creek bottom. The fairways were built on rolling terrain and vary from wide open to narrow. Most of the trees haven't quite grown into full maturity, but as they do, the course will become much more difficult. The greens are large, somewhat undulating, and some are severely sloped. Water hazards (ponds and creeks) come into play on sixteen holes. The signature hole is #8, a 213-yard, par 3, featuring a 150-foot vertical drop from tee to green. The scorecard doesn't show handicaps for individual holes.

Dissappointed, Apr 20, 2007

I have been several times to this course. The course is not well maintained. It looked as if the Greens had not be mowed in days the last time I was there. Half the time the club house is closed with nobody to help you. The power lines running through the course at noisy and unattractive. Even through it is a good price I would not play this course much. You get what you pay for.

Wilshire Golf Club
"Good Challenge; Poor Conditions."
Wilshire is a challenge in disguise. With many decisions shots like weather to carry the creek on the first hole or whether or not to cut the corner off of the 17th. But the adverse course condidions can discourage most golfers that are looking for a challenge. Shabby fairways and greens give it a rough appearance but it is a good deal for the price.

North Shore Country Club
"Great Bay Side Holes, and Tough"
Play this in the wind and you'll find your handicap is a little too low. Northshore is a wonderful course with great bay views on the 4 bayside holes. And Don't miss the gator on hole 12, the cormorants on number 3, or all the other birds during the migratory months. In winter the rye overseed makes Northshore one of the best courses in all of South Texas.
