Nice Par 3 Course, Apr 16, 2004

This is a nice, short, par 3 course. The greens are in good shape, but fairly small. The average hole distance is probably just over 100 yards, with the longest being 147, and the shortest about 75. The really short holes are a little frustrating because they arn't even a full sand wedge. However, the course is a neat one to play. Water (mainly in the form of a creek) isn't in play on many holes. There is a resident population of geese, ducks, and swans that are very people friendly. The prop shop is fairly bare-bones but the pro is knowledgeable and friendly. There is a small practice green, with only two holes cut in it. There is also a "practice hole" which is actually an island green that you are allowed to hit your own balls onto for practice. All in all, a nice experience for a very low price.

"Great Beginner couse"
This course is great for beginners. Althought the course is go for starters it is also challenging. Some of the green can be quiet hard. The 5th hole in my opinion is the hardest. This course is my home course formy school golf team and it can be very hard for even some good players.

Brookside Golf Course
"Excellent value and old fashioned feel"
Brookside is an excellent value, and offers intangibles that many other courses in its price range can't, at least in the Saline/Ann Arbor area. It has been in existence for decades, and feels like well established. The trees are all large and grown, the terrain is rolling and interesting, the greens are well aged, and the course comes across as being more "natural" rather than man-made. Also, it is family owned and it shows in the freindliness of the employees. There are lots of "regulars" that make for a very relaxed atmosphere. The course may be old, and rustic, but it is well maintained and interesting.
