This course is family owned and operated. The fairways are tree lined, and the undulating greens are average-sized and get watered every day. A pond only comes into play once on the back nine. The signature hole is #15, a 190-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over a scenic pond to the green.

| Short, dry course. Grass was scattered and when you hit a good drive your ball will roll forever. Greens weren't in good condition compared to surrounding courses. Not bad for beginners however $50 can get you a better course and a working golf cart! |

The price is right, Jun 09, 2005 |

| Stone E Lea is the most reasonably priced course full-sized course in the area ($21 for 18 holes weekdays as of 2005). The greens are watered daily and are kept in consistent condition, though they are quite slow. The fairways and rough are not watered and burn out early in the summer. The course is wide and forgiving, with few traps and no water at all except for a pond guarding on the signature 15th, a 190-yard par-3 known in fun as "The Widowmaker". This is classic publinx golf, with pleasant people, no tee times, and some strange bounces when the summer heat has worked its magic. As long as you're not expecting Donald Ross, it's a decent day on the links. Bring the sunblock and leave the fancy wedges at home. |
