This wilderness course offers lots of beautiful scenery. The large greens putt true, and the fairways are wide open. The course has tree-lined fairways from tee to green, plus there are several sand bunkers. Water hazards come into play on some holes. Fairly Unknown Jewel on the eastside, May 17, 2004

Having a place just north of this super nice course allows me to play it often. Three years ago was the first time and I've played it at least 3 times a year since. It's very affordable, what I really should say is that it's a steal of a deal to play. Some of the most eye pleasing holes, period. Great staff as well. Number 2 par 4 has water down the entire right side but don't let that scare you. Huge landing area with a large green to shoot at. Number 17 par 4, carry the big stick over water to the fairway then to a narrow green. Fun hole! The entire course is cut through the woods, awesome. In the area, PLAY THIS COURSE! I can't say enough about it here.

Chalet Hills Golf Club
"Challenging but Fair"
If you play the course right you will have to use every club in your bag. Variety of holes, no two are alike. Trees, bunkers, water, doglegs and hills, this course has it all. Beginners with a wild driver will have some trouble but will not have to hit over obstacles except for two greens surrounded by water. Staff is great and course is getting in better shape each year.

Mountain Valley Golf Course - Maple/Oak Course
"hidden gem"
Course was originally 18 but 9 new holes were added in the last few years. The three nines, oak, pine, and maple are all challenging with tight tree lined fairways with generous sized greens with a fair bit of undulation. Huge elevation changes on some holes offer great views of the surrounding PA countryside. Although not the longest course, although some holes are quite long it is easily the most difficult in the region due to the tightness and difficult putting greens. The greens are always in great condition so the difficulty I have with putting is assuredly not the course, It's all mine. Great value too, and a friendly and helpful staff makes these three nine hole courses a must when in the area.
