This course has large greens, and its rolling fairways offer a variety of lies. The course was designed so that you must use every club in your bag. Water hazards (thirteen ponds) come into play on fourteen holes. Some of the fairways are tree lined, and sand bunkers come into play on the fairways and around the greens. The signature hole is #10, a picturesque 425-yard, par 4, requiring an approach shot to a well-bunkered green. The facility also features a new practice putting green. Guests are only allowed to play the course when accompanied by a club member.

The club has gone through a recent ownership change (2005). The new owners are changing the course and building some housing near the course (needed the land). Seems to be low morale with workers in Pro Shop and restaurant. Good practice facilities, great golf course, that is, what has not changed.

Greens are fast, Stay below the pin. Best to play late in the day. Lots of wild life. deer, turkeys,swans ,ducks etc. So far no snakes. Great People, friendly, Driving range So-So # 3 green is tuff to read Look out

Ponderosa Country Club
"Hidden gem of the midlands"
Fast greens, Plush fairways, challenging layout. Not as open as it looks. The course was redone from tee to green about a year ago. Terrace Park Country Club
