This course's front nine is fairly open, and its back nine has severely undulating greens. The Androscoggin River flows alongside the course and will come into play if you slice a shot on hole #12, a 603-yard, par 5, which runs the entire length of the river. Phil Wogan designed the back nine, which was added in 1963, and Geoffrey Cornish and Brian Silva redesigned all eighteen in a few years later.

Riverview Golf Course
"Best 9 holes around"
Riverview is the perfect practice course when you don't have time for 18. It's long enough to be interesting and offers enough challenges to allow practice on all aspects of your game. The course has good greens, challenging sand traps and water hazards you can't see--until its too late. Its also fun to play.

even though Harding got all the attention during the renovation, the Fleming track received the same TLC and it is obvious. Great bargain for someone wanting to shoot 9 holes with top-quality teeboxes, fairways and greens.

I found Foxwood to be a course that could use some improvements. However, I did enjoy playing this course and the layout. The employees were true pros. The course is shaded with many trees which allows you to hone your placement skills. This course surely is a diamond in the rough.

Wendigo Golf Club
"3 today 4-5 tomorrow"
18 months ago this course was finally purchased by someone who really wanted to make a statement about the course. They finally finished off the exiting log structure into a beautiful clubhouse/restaurant/bar. With fantastic views of the course, there are few clubhouses that can beat this "19th hole". The course itself did need some work, the greens looked like they had had some issues over the winter. There are plans underway to relocate holes 8 & 9 (which is a good thing, they are probably the most blah holes on the course) and build a 60 room hotel. All-in-all the course is still one of my favorite courses up in GR. Some TLC to the greens and this course is one of the best in northern Minnesota.
