This well-maintained course features small greens that are fast. Most holes are reachable with a driver and an iron. Water hazards come into play on ten holes. In addition, a couple of ditches come into play on some holes. The back nine plays longer than the front nine. The ladies' par is actually 79. The green fees indicated are good for all-day play. "Golf Digest" rated this as a three star course in their "Places to Play" category for 1996-97.

Not a bad track. The front nine favors a player who can draw the ball as there is OB to the right on a great many holes. Holes 6, 7, & 8 can turn into a shooting gallery as they all go back and forth across the same valley. Players with errant tee shots will find themselves in harms way of the adjacent holes. A very good family owned/operated course. At least 3 generations that I know of.

"Nice change of pace"
This course is a nice change of pace. I have played it every year for the last 5 years for a total of about 15 rounds. The water was way down for a few years and when it was the course was not very nice to look at. Greens are small and challenging. The course is fun to play and reasonably tough. Having a sand trap in the middle of a green is flat out stupid. That hole (# 15) is definately my least favorite hole. The par five # 14 along the road seems to always be in bad shape. Outside of holes #4 , #14 and #15 I like the course .

Tannehill National Golf Course

Tannehill National has got to be one of the best courses in the state. The fairways this past summer looked better than a lot of greens I've seen. From the back tees the course is near perfect. It is pretty much wide open but, there is a creek that comes into play on several holes and the strategically placed ponds can make you pay for a bad tee shot. The greens are fast but they hold shots and roll true .You just can't find bermuda greens that stay as consistent as theirs do.
