Meadow Greens Golf Course
Mower County 25Austin, MN 55912

This executive course is highlighted by its difficult finishing holes. The signature hole is #8, a 130-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over some wetlands to the green. Water hazards (a pond and a meandering creek) come into play on four holes. The undulating greens are elevated and medium-sized. The course has a few 100-year-old trees that can affect your shots. The course surrounds a wildlife habitat area, which should be avoided.

Typical southern MN course...., Jul 18, 2004 |

| This course description is a tale of two cities. The front nine is extremely short, containing four par 3's, many shorter par 4's (less than 300 yards) and one shorter par 5 (450ish), and only one blind shot. The back nine is much longer and more difficult. One of the par 3's is the shortest hole I have ever played. It is about 70 yards and plays even shorter as the hole placement is commonly at the front edge of the green. The moderately sized fairways are lined with thick, knee-high clover patches which make it very difficult to find a ball shanked left or right. Water is never really in play if you make solid contact with the ball. Sand is not a significant issue with the course. Water and rough is not either, although the long stuff on the back nine can eat a lot of balls. Overall, considering price and ease of not needing a tee time, I give the course a solid 3.5 stars out of 5. I will round down to 3 as I can't give it 3.5. |

Fun Course, May 11, 2004 |

| I like this course a lot, I am not a pro by any means, but for a fun, semi-easy course, this one would be a good pick. The front 9 is a tight set-up, lots of trees, couple dog legs, and a creek. The back 9 is prety long, very open and straight, but challenging. The greens are nothing to brag about, kinda depends on the day....and if they feel like taking care of them, but all-in-all, a good, fun course. Check it out |
