This resort has two regulation eighteen hole courses. The Live Oak Course was built on flat terrain and offers some very scenic views. The fairways are narrow, and the greens are well manicured. The Yaupon Course was built on hilly terrain and requires eight blind approach shots to eight different greens. The greens are undulating, and the fairways are plush. There is a Jack Nicklaus designed teaching facility with full length holes, multiple pin placements, uneven lies, fairway bunkers, and varying lengths of rough. This facility also has a 500-yard driving range.

Yaupon has some very unique holes. Blind approach shots, and stubborn hole placements. A long ball hitter will score on this course, though, and it could use some more judiciously placed sand. The first hole will bring you to your knees.

Winter Springs Golf Club

This course is challenging because your lie had better be in the fairway or you'll most likely be looking for it in some form of casual water or very thick rough. The fairways were either overly-tight, negelected, outright wet, or all three. The greens are a muddy, slow-medium to slow speed with only a fair amount of undulation. The par 3 greens are almost all too large and too flat to be much fun. I've played WPGC twice and didn't really enjoy the experience because of all the standing water in the rough and on the fairways. I'm rating the course at 2 stars only because they have reliable and frequent refreshment cart service.

Mosholu Golf Course & Driving Range
"ON THE LOW"
I am a novice player (or hacker). I think this is a great place to learn. I don't know anywhere else in the city where you can walk up on a nice weekend and not wait long to play. The POOR DRAINAGE on Hole 1 in the fairway 20 yds. from the green makes this blind approach shot unfair. That and more yardage markers are my only complaints. The greens are well kept for a municiple course. The fairways are maintained well. The long holes, narrow fairways, and blind approach shots make this course challenging even though there are no bunkers and two water hazards. Their practice facilities which include a practice range, a sand bunker, at least two chipping areas, and a putting green is ideal for the novice golfer to work on their game.
