This course is challenging, exciting, demanding, and offers a lot of breathtaking scenery. The plush fairways are wide open, and the greens are fast and large. The course is situated alongside Badin Lake which comes into play on three holes. The signature hole is #18, a 568-yard, par 5, where you are tempted to hit a tee shot over the corner of the dogleg fairway in hopes of getting a birdie. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 5th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 4th best for 1997-98. "GOLFWEEK" selected it 89th among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1999.

| Fabulous Tom Fazio design that is built along large lake. Challenging but fair. A true mountain course as it is in Uwharrie National Forest and Mountains. Up hill, down hill, side hill lies make it a full experience. Greens consistently good. Great views of lake from several holes. Consistently rated as one of the best in North Carolina. Clubhouse and seperate pro shop are top notch. Homes are attractive and do not "canyon" the fairways. One of the nicest total golf course communities I have seen with its own marina for those "off golf" days. |
