Over the last few years the course has really fallen into bad shape, cart path is very rough with so many potholes you have to leave the path and now the sides of the path are full of very large mud holes. It's very sad to see this course in such bad shape, 2 years ago it was unbelievably beautiful. I guess present owner doesn't want to spend the money to keep this course as beautiful as it once was.

This course is average at best. The greens are in pretty bad shape, but depending on the price it's a fair value. The layout is good, but with so many new couses in Louisiana, this is definately a bottom tier course.

Briarwood is a very challenging course. It’s very tight due to all of the trees that align the fairways. Course is in good shape with the new ownership that took over at the beginning of the year. The rates are very fair and reasonable as well. For example, $16 all you can play with a cart after 2:00 Mon-Thurs, not to bad. If you are from out of town and want to play a beautiful and challenging course that shows Louisiana beauty with alligators and turtles, then go to Briarwood which is a must play course.

Briarwood Golf Club used to be an OK course to play. They have wide fairways and fast greens. There is quite a bit of damage to the 18th green due to vandalism but it seems to be getting back in shape. The main problem is that a new company bought the course. The previous owner gave public service (police,EMS, FD) a discount charging only $12 with a cart M-F. This is a fair price to pay. I played on a friday morning and was shocked to find that I was charge $32. This was WAY TOO much to pay.
