GREAT LAYOUT, needs help with greenskeeping, Jul 05, 2004

The best bang for your buck easily in East Baton Rouge parish (public). A wonderfully laid out course that challenges all facets of your game but is still enjoyable. For the last several years though, the conditions of the greens are "on again...off again", so temper your expectations. I would rate Briarwood a 2, and Webb a 1, and City Park a "0".

Robert Trent Jones at muni prices. Well maintained, fun, challenging, beautiful. Driving range, putting and chipping greens. Good facility, good personnel - my number one place to bring my customers or just go with my friends.

this can be a great course if only it was maintained a little better. The practive facility is very small and could really use some work. ovee all i like playing this course

It's a decent course. For the price, it's very good. That's why I'm giving it 3 stars. $14 is cheap for 18 holes of golf. Many of the greens are strangely small. Too small in some cases. Although, since many holes are very short, the small greens make them harder, which is good. No real bunkers. There are some strange dug up pits with sand in them, but they look like an afterthought. I wish they did the bunkers correctly, or just completely left them out. There are a few very fun holes on back-9. I recommend playing the course at least once. I did play the course during winter so the greens weren't too great, but it's understandale in February. I will definately play there more in the spring when conditions will be better. Especially being a college student, I'm all for the price.
