Unlimited Potential, Apr 30, 2008

For those of you who haven't experienced the NEW Mill Valley Golf Links, go there NOW! Conditions are improving as the new irrigation system is starting to take hold. It has taken 5 years to renovate the old 9 holes and build 9 new ones, but Mill Valley is now ready to take its place along side the GREAT golf courses in Massachusetts. I mean it! By the end of 2008, it WILL be the best course in Massachusetts. It was worth the wait. For those of you who think you are a good golfer, try the BLUE tees at Mill Valley and put everything in the hole! Mill Valley makes you work for a good score. Tiger Woods,,,,let's see what you would shoot playing a TRUE New England course.

never go here, Mar 22, 2006
reviewer: jerry from Belchertown, MA
This course is by far the worst i have ever played at. conditions are always terrible, as you can always find a random gigantic puddle or two in the middle of the fairway (unless during a heat wave) the course holes are extremely straight forward with nothing exciting or different. and no, this is not a 18 hole course, there are 9 holes... maybe 11 that are even worth playing. The new ones are in terrible conditions with thick forest, long grassed fairways, and not to mention when teeing off, your basically hitting from the rough. And finally, you will not find a course with more BAD members. There cant be more than 5 players with a 10 or below handicap there. Overall, the course is BAD, the people are BAD, and the prices are downright RIDICULOUS.

Value, challenge, and a great experience!, Nov 04, 2005

I've made a habit of exploring different courses in Massachusetts and I'd call Mill Valley my favorite "sleeper". Mill Valley is now a complete 18 hole course with many challenging holes. Holes 3-16 are "isolated" and very pretty and scenic. There are 2 holes, a par 5 triple dogleg and a par 4 uphill dogleg left on the front nine that are as difficult to score on as any holes in Massachusetts. I've shown up here three times as a single and have played with super people and have thoroughly enjoyed this golf course. There are also some spectacularly scenic holes here with "long mountain" views in many cases. Though about seven holes are "new" they are rapidly growing in and are very well designed. (I like the new holes the best!) The greens here are large and true - but very tricky when dry. I love this course! Play it from the Blue tees and you get a true golf experience - almost 6700 yards! The prices are VERY VERY reasonable! If you are a golf enthusiast you will love this course!

A diamond in the rough - with lots of value and challenge!, Oct 11, 2005
reviewer: Chuck P. from Royalston, MA
Mill Valley is a (newer) full eighteen and from the blues - incredibly challenging! I struggled to score as both the distance (6600 yards) and tree lined fairways add to the difficulty of the course - The views are very pretty. Fortunately I played with a member or I would have had trouble navigating a few holes. Fairways are still filling in - in some places on the new holes. One hole, a double dogleg par 5 is one of the most challenging in New England. You need a perfect drive to get down in five. I loved this course - even the walk was fun (very hilly) yet challenging! The greens are very fair (Tricky!) and large -The potential of this course is immense! Great clubhouse and staff. I'll be back!
