This somewhat open course was designed after the Scottish links-style. The beautiful layout offers numerous scenic views of the countryside and Mount Baker. One hole that combines trees, water and sand is #5, a 374-yard, par 4, which has trees on the left side of the landing area and water on the right. The green on this hole is also tucked beside trees and sand on the left, and water in back. The rough that borders the fairways is extremely thick, and the terrain is hilly. There are several elevated tee boxes, including some that feature drops of more than 150 feet in elevation to the fairways. The 6,274-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 76.1 and a slope of 130.

What a treat to play this golf course. Well layed out and challenging in a nice setting. The staff are great and you can't beat the price. I have played it many times and it is my first choice to play in the area.

Hyde Park Golf Club
"Wide Open Drive"
Fairly well kept course, the fairways are wide open for the most psrt, so if you lose your new Titlest, its your fault...There are a few water hazards in challengable spots. Bunkers are all easily avoidable. This is actually a challenging course, but one that wont drive you nuts with every stroke. Its also a pretty good course for those who arent, Arnold Palmer. You have to know your game, but it allows for mistakes, without costing you 3 strokes. The trees are beautiful, and the wildlife around the course adds to the experience. Its nice to find a place like this tucked among the city, and tall radio towers, which are right in the middle of the course, between holes nine and ten, which is the primary problem spot for this course. Its priced right, and a good challenge for the money.

"Nice Layout"
Course is well laid out, no worry of hitting into or being hit by other fairways. Golf community with housing that doesn't inhibit play. Bent grass greens are small, but fast and true. Traps need work. Rolling terrain provides challenge. Water hazards on about half the holes. Pretty course.

This is a very nice course. The holes along the ocean are nice and relaxing. It is not to difficult and makes for a great outing, especially for those who have a higher than average handicapp.

Northeast Harbor Golf Club
"Seasonal member"
NEHGC is on the pleasant island of Mt.Desert in Downeast Maine. I live in Seal Harbor 6 mos. a yr and join the club as a seasonal member. The play is $255 and excludes June 26 thru Sept 6. It is by far the best deal on MDI and throughout the downeast region. The course is never crowded, and you can expect the service in the pro shop to be excellent. Beautifully maintained greens and fairways with the backdrop of surrounding mtns. and countryside make this course a well kept secret on busy MDI. Make a tee time after Sept. 30 to enjoy incredible foliage and ideal temperatures.
