Cacapon Resort State ParkRoute 1 Berkeley Springs, WV 25411 Phone: (304)258-1022Fax: (304)258-5323
This course is best known out of the four state park facilities. The course is set in the rolling foothills at the base of Cacapon Mountain, and is the centerpiece of a 6,000-acre park in Berkeley Springs, which happens to boast the nation's oldest spa. The course has water hazards (three ponds) coming into play on four holes. Hole #2, a 410-yard, par 4, has water in front and back of the green, making the approach shot quite difficult. The front nine is flat, and the back is hilly. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 6th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. The 6,410-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 75.7. The 5,510-yard ladies' tee also has a men's course rating of 65.7.

| If you like a more traditional course, you must give this a try. The Jones Sr. layout has many enjoyable, fair, and yet tough challenges. Everything is in plain view. The greens offer many undulations and yet putt true. They were somewhat slow later in the day. The fairways are fair and offer good visuals from the tee. Water is in play on a few holes. The entire experience was very pleasing. The course is in nice shape, but if you're expecting highline resort type conditioning you may be disappointed. If you want a quality design, a great view, quiet, and a good test, I suggest you make your tee time. |

| What a great course!!!! Tough, windy, good greens, Robert Trent Jones design, mountains, scenery, helpful staff and outstanding price. What can you ask for more? only one thing, the slope is underrated and you'll shoot higher scores. Not to be missed
