This Scottish links-style course only has a few trees, but it does have a lot of water hazards (six ponds) coming into play on seven holes. The fairways are lined with large mounds, but are fairly level down the middle. The greens are large, relatively flat and well bunkered.

i played on a busy saturday. many 2 somes on the course made play slow and the greens had been top dressed. no one in shop bothered to inform us.

It is a pretty decent course but it definitely needs more trees and experience to become a good course. The greens also get pretty rough at times and could use improvement. This course seems quite forgiving at times. I do enjoy playing the course though.

"Dutch"
A tremendous couse in a beautiful mountain setting, especially in September and October when in full fall foliage, the afternoon temperatures in the low 70's and the skies so blue the horizon lines become razor sharp. The back nine challange you with mountain streams, blind doglegs, an occasional buck jumping from a creek bed and or lofty tee boxes daring you to choose a loftier iron for dropping it between the aspens and the traps.... Not too many courses in the world offer better views, thinner air for longer drives, or nicer people to pamper your needs. July through mid October is prime... take plenty of time and the closest of friends, I guarantee you a memorable experiance and a challanging round!

Springfield Golf Club
"Dakota's Pebble Beach"
One would hardly expect to find a gem like the Springfield Golf Club in this rural setting in an agricultural state such as South Dakota. This course demands your best game with keeping the ball in the fairway a premium. Although not a long course, the long hitter does not have a major advantage. Tree-lined fairways are expertly maintained and the greens are challenging. All of this quality golf is accompanied by some of the most beautiful scenery in the state. The course is built on bluffs overlooking Lewis and Clark Lake and the view from every tee is extraordinary. This wonderful nine hole golf course has earned the right to be called Dakota's Pebble Beach.

Rancho Solano Golf Course
"Plenty of Choices"
Rancho Solano presents the normal golfer a blend of narrow fairways with generous ones but the most memorable traits are indeed the greens. Being on the right level on a given green can be your ticket to a great round while being on the wrong one can ruin your day. The hilly area is well displayed as the course undulates through the Fairfield foothills and some of the views from the higher holes are outstanding.
