Not very enjoyable, Jul 23, 2005

| A group of seven played on Friday 7-22-05. One of the seven is a member, one is a former member, the other five have played the course several times. Greens were in fair condition. It is not worth the fifty dollars for a round of golf. This course will not make a good golfer better or an average golfer enjoy playing. Heatherwood should be plowed and corn planted in its place. If the course remains management should consider changing the name to Hellwood. It was agreed that this yearly gathering will not be at Heatherwood again. I will never play this course again or recommend it to anyone. Members in the grill area were rude and unwelcoming. The staff in the pro shop and grill did do their jobs. |

Brand New Heatherwood, Apr 19, 2005

| Heatherwood has been completly renovated in 2001 to a 6,351-yard, 18-hole golf course by architect John LaFoy.
The new course is still tightly tucked in the houses, but the fairways and greens are in great shape. Specifically the greens, amoung the best in the entire city.
The layout is best described as tight with an emphasis on course management. If you spray the ball, you can expect 4 to 5 lost balls and some touchy ball positions on your approach.
All in all, the course is very challenging. It more than makes up for the lack of length.
Go for it. |

Great Course, Feb 20, 2005

| What a great course. Requires shot making and thought. It isn't a "grip it and rip it" course, with little margin for error, but if you can play well at Heatherwood you can play well anywhere. Although the yardage isn't too long, the terrain (up hill approaches, long par threes) make it play long.
If you are looking for an easy course go elsewhere, but if you want a good golf challenge, this is it. More challenging than Shoal Creek. |
