This resort has two regulation eighteen hole courses. The lodge and courses are located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. These courses, which are about three miles apart, but are part of the same resort, were built on a chain of open meadows and are very hilly. The Big Meadow Course has flatter terrain and is longer and more open than the Glaze Meadow Course. In other words, the Glaze Meadow Course requires more placement shots. There are dogleg fairways to test your ability to work the ball in both directions. "Golf Digest" rated the Big Meadow Course as the 7th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. In addition, the Glaze Meadow Course was rated by "Golf Digest" as the 54th best out of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses" from their list of "America's Best Golf Courses Everyone Can Play" for 1996. They also rated it as the 12th "Best in State" course for 1997-98. The Superintendent for the Glaze Meadow Course is Jerry Kessell. For tee times reservations call (800) 399-2322. This is one of the funnest courses that I have ever played. The open layout and scenic views made it a spectacular experience. The work crew and the people there are the greatest. With a work crew of only 5, the course is in fabulous shape and is comparable to some of the best. The fairways are in imaculate condition.

"Dakota's Pebble Beach"
One would hardly expect to find a gem like the Springfield Golf Club in this rural setting in an agricultural state such as South Dakota. This course demands your best game with keeping the ball in the fairway a premium. Although not a long course, the long hitter does not have a major advantage. Tree-lined fairways are expertly maintained and the greens are challenging. All of this quality golf is accompanied by some of the most beautiful scenery in the state. The course is built on bluffs overlooking Lewis and Clark Lake and the view from every tee is extraordinary. This wonderful nine hole golf course has earned the right to be called Dakota's Pebble Beach.
