This club has two regulation eighteen hole courses. These courses were built on flat terrain, so they are easy to walk. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, and large trees can alter your shots. The signature hole on the Tom's Run Course is #4, a tough 492-yard, par 5, which was cut through thick woods and requires an approach shot over water to the green. According to many locals, the Tom's Run Course is the best public course in western Pennsylvania. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 6th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996.

Just another Municiple Course, Sep 10, 2010

This used to be a real nice golf course, but now is just a place to play Golf. They cut down trees so there is no challenge to play this course. There is no sand in the bunkers, they are now clay pits and stones. It used to be rated 3 1/2, should be a 1 or lower now. They call it a Golf Resort and Conference Center, it is not a Golf Resort for sure.

Chestnut ridge is a beautiful golf course with many challenges. Not only do you get a challanging round of golf, but you get the beautiful scenery of Blairsville, PA. I would recommend this course to anyone. Only set back is the course is so great that many golfers come out to play.

Blue Lakes C.C. is one of the best courses I have played, and I have been all over the country. Deep in the Snake River Canyon, there is not one shot that isnt breath taking. Rob Ellis, has done a great job with his staff, and golf course. If anyone gets the opportunity to play this magnificant course, do not pass it up. I would pay 2ce or 3 times as much to play this course again.

"Great track"
I love this course. Have probably played it as a guest about 8 times and every time I'm done, I can't wait to get back. Played it 2x last summer ('03), when there was a lot of rain out East, and despite that, still enjoyed it. Fairways are among the best conditioned I've ever seen. Greens are in great shape-- and not too big, so you get a lot of makeable putts, but there are a lot of subtleties to them. As for the layout, get your pars and birdies on the front 9 because the back is brutal. One is a straight out Par 5 and you think "this isn't too bad". Get off the tee straight on two. Four is a very good hole. 6 is a sneaky tough par4 dogleg left, and nine is a 450 yard par 4 (blue tees) that gets you geared up for the back. Not a bad hole on the back nine, plus it takes you out of the holes that wind through office buildings and puts you into wetlands. A lot of carry. Par 10-12 and you are ready for 13, a long par 4 with a 2nd shot carry to a green that is impossible to it and impossible to putt. The member I play with is a 5 handicap and he always says--"take your bogey and smile". 14-17 are no gimmes and 18 is a par 4 that demands a 250 yard tee shot, but this leaves you a 170-200 yard uphill approach from a downhill lie to a green that has more break than any other on the course. Clubhouse is nice, but doesn't seem big enough. I've been there on Summer Friday's and it always seems like they need more space. Food is awesome though.
