This is an exceptionally well-maintained course that offers challenging play for even the most advanced golfers. Challenges include rolling fairways that result in many uneven lies. The greens are very fast and feature many undulations, so precise putting is crucial to achieving par.

Wonderful course for rural Virginia, Mar 09, 2004

This course has very fast greens with beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend anyone in the area or staying with a member to play a round. A few holes are difficult to play due to their close proximity to roads, but other portions of the course are deep into the mountains. A thrill for any golfer describes Fincastle. Also, the staff is very helpful: they will work with you in any way possible!

This is a terrific course - challenging but fair. The setting and views are spectacular. Tucked in the La Quinta cove, wind is not a factor like in other desert courses. Condition is excellent.

The problem with this course is that the greens are not well taken care of. The fairways run adjacent to each other so you will frequently have to look out for golf balls flying towards your way by novice golfers.

theres not one hole I had to pull out more than a 9-iron on so everything is very short. quite a few difficult pin placements and some water make it more fun. 11th is next to impossible to birdie if the pin is cut up front. recommended for begginers and anyone who wants to really give their 9-w-sw a work out.
