Weekend with Bernie, Jul 29, 2005

The is the Florida home course of German great, Bernie Langer. Decent length, but demanding if the wind is up. Iron approaches to the correct postion are crtical, otherwise you better bring your "A" short game. And say Hi to Bernie, he is a real gentleman.

"Ernie Montano"
For a fast round of 9-holes this course is very enjoyable, and actually quite challenging. The greens are all in good condition throught the year, and so are the fairways. Par 3's range from 90-yards to 205-yards, and the par 4s are long enough where you can hit driver and/or 3-wood. Wonderful practice putting green surrounding water and driving range is also nice. For the price and convenience of walking on without a long wait, it's a winner in my book.

"Nice, playable course"
This is a nice playable course. Not overpowering in length, it is a good fit for both long and short hitters. I played in February and the course was in excellent shape considering the time of year. Greens rolled nice and true. Staff was friendly.

Waynesville Country Club Inn - Carolina/Dogwood Course
"Heaven in the spring time!!!"
Each spring for the past 20 years I have left the cold of Wisconsin to meet friends from Tenn.and Ohio for a weekend of golf. The course is always in excellent condition, The lodging,food etc. is great but most impressive is the staff. The friendliest folks you ever want to meet from check-in to check-out.Can't say enough about the experience.
