This tight and undulating course has very quick greens. The course was built in the foothills and features the natural terrain. The front nine is highlighted by a huge canyon that bisects many holes. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 5th "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. The course is closed on Mondays until 2 PM.

River Plantation Country Club - Augusta/Biloxi Course
"Challenging Layout"
Fun, challenging layout with recently reworked tees and greens. Course conditions a little spotty and a "mud-fest" if there's even a chance of rain. $25 weekday green fee is fair but $50 on weekends is a little out of line with other area courses. Some good money games on most days.

"Not a Gimmie"
This course at first glance seems very easy and short; however, once you get out there, you realize you were totally wrong. Great shot makers course. If you are a longer hitter, you may only pull out driver 6-8 times as the course requires you to shoot through narrow fairways for your second shot to hard dog leg holes. Very fun course.

Marion Military Institute Golf Course
"New Golfer approves"
I am a very new golfer, I've only been at it for 4 weeks, but I attend Marion Military Institute, and this is a very nice course. THe superintendant is our coach, and he teaches us a lot about how each hole slopes and turns, which is nice, because he is a certified AAA instructor, and he knows our course better than anyone. ALl in all, its a very nice course, and presents a challenge to many golfers. The fairwats are seperated by trees, but dont let that fool you, you can still accidentally hit into another one. When you come off the first green, the second tee is behind the green, and the fiarway is perpendicular to #1, not parallel, thats #6. Its a common mistake, but you get used to it. The greens tend to slope all over the place, but they are nice and fast most days. All in all, nine very nice holes with raised tees and greens on a few holes. Highly recommended by me.
