Poorly managed and maintained., Jul 27, 2007
reviewer: Never Again from Boise, ID
No water in coolers at 9:00 A.M. on a Friday with an expected high of 100 degrees. Unacceptable!! If it wasn't for warm water in cooler on 9th hole, I might've passed out. Bumpy, tore up greens with several unrepaired ball marks. Course maintenance staff oblivous to golfers. Mowed right behind me as I was in backswing, without pausing. Also, continued mowing on fringe of green as our group was putting, without stopping and throttling down the engine. Course marshall asked our group to speed up play when we had to wait nearly 5 minutes at each shot for slow group ahead to putz around. When I told the marshall he had to be kidding, he told me not to 'argue with him.' I guess he wanted us to hit into them, or play through?? One of the most irritating rounds out of 1000+ rounds played. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I've played this course numerous times. I like the layout of the course and I like how it's right up against the foothills and the Boise River. The course is kept in alright condition, the greens can get pretty bumpy. One major drawback is all the goose droppings that litter the course. Any hole that has water near is is covered in it and it's hard to advoid. Other than that you can't beat the prices so I would recommend this public course.

Warm Springs, Wind Springs Review, Apr 26, 2004
reviewer: MJL from Boise, Idaho
I have played Warm Springs several times and enjoy the challenge. The layout is ok. The biggest drawback of the course is the wind. Out of 12 times playing 18, the wind blew very hard on 9 of those outings. If the wind is blowing, I would suggest playing the front 9. The back 9 has 4 holes in a row that face into the wind. On the flip-side, if the wind is with you, you will experience 300+ yard drives. The course would be great if there were little wind to deal with. Greens and conditions are in great condition as well. Very busy on weekends and tough to get on.

You can't beat the price and the surrounding scenery. The course is a little rough but expected for a public course. Forgiving open fairways allow beginners and weekend hackers a chance at par.

Nice course. It's located right next to the Boise river, and I'd like to see the river incorporated into the holes a bit. Not very imaginative, but tons of mature trees give plenty of shade and nice views.
