This course features relatively level terrain and has water coming into play on seventeen holes. The narrow fairways and dense population of trees help the layout play rather tight. The conservative, slightly-undulating greens also add to the challenge.

Very Unique New Course, Apr 27, 2004

The green fees were a bit pricey at Stonebridge. Apparantly, when the course was built they ran into financial problems, so they opened the course to the public. I'm glad they did, because playing there was a very nice golf experience. It was worth it to play at least once, but I won't play it consistently because it's expensive. I thoroughly enjoyed the course layout. There are a couple nice risk reward holes, which makes the course fun. All over the course, there are environmentally-safe areas. It's pretty interesting, but you can't retrieve your ball from the area. But, it does make the course very appealing to the eye. There is a ton of bayou and water on the course. Very fun and challenging. I would definately recommend playing this course at least once.

"Hidden jewel"
This course is in the middle of the upper peninsula of Michigan. It is simply the best course I ever played for the money. Quick and true greens were very well maintained (How did they attract such a talented Superintendent). Very challenging holes that do not duplicate themselves. Laid back atmosphere--no pressures!

Living in the midst of legends like grossingers and the concord monster, Tarry Brae offers an equal genre style course at a much better value. Greens usually run fast and true, and the layout is niether quirky nor tricky. A traditional layout at a reasonable price. Game on!

Mountain Valley Golf Course - Maple/Oak Course
"hidden gem"
Course was originally 18 but 9 new holes were added in the last few years. The three nines, oak, pine, and maple are all challenging with tight tree lined fairways with generous sized greens with a fair bit of undulation. Huge elevation changes on some holes offer great views of the surrounding PA countryside. Although not the longest course, although some holes are quite long it is easily the most difficult in the region due to the tightness and difficult putting greens. The greens are always in great condition so the difficulty I have with putting is assuredly not the course, It's all mine. Great value too, and a friendly and helpful staff makes these three nine hole courses a must when in the area.
