Bon Vivant Country Club - Championship CourseCareer Ctr Rd Bourbonnais, IL 60914 Phone: (815)935-0403Fax: (815)935-8011
This facility opened a second eighteen hole course in the summer of 1997. The North Course is more of links-style design with grass mounds placed along the fairways. The layout doesn't include the Scottish-style rough outlining the holes, but there are twenty-eight different types of grasses and wildflowers planted throughout the design. The signature hole on the new layout is #16, a 168-yard, par 3, which requires a carry of all but twelve yards over water. The Championship Course is another challenging layout that has water hazards coming into play on a few holes. The fairways are average width, and the greens are fast. Bon Vivant hosted a U.S. Open qualifier in 1996. There are discounts on cart rentals during the weekdays.

| I recently played the North course of Bon Vivant. It has been about three years since I played it. Then it was still maturing. Well, it has reached it's maturity. Even with the extrememly dry conditions of 2005, they have got the fairways in best condition of any course I have played in the past 4 years. This included courses in Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Myrtle Beach and elsewhere. The fairways and greens are like fine carpet. Many of the tee boxes are manicured and look like greens.
This is truly a great course to play and is probably under priced. While many like the Champ course for it's length, the North course offers much better conditions and can be challenging as well.
Try it, you'll like it. |

| bon vivant is great for reasonable prices in the south suburbarbs of chicago. about 60minutes from joliet il and 40 minutes or less from frankfort il its the best deal on the planet. you can play the north course with a cart for about 25.00 and less for seniors. great condition fairways, sometimes the tees are a little rough, but the greens are as good as any top quality public course. |
