Trying to be better, Aug 13, 2004

You can tell the new owners of Deer Creek (now called "Lost River") are putting more effort into the course than previous owners. My last visit was pleasantly surprising with the greens in much better shape the the fairways properly mowed. It would take an enormous effort to make it a great course, but for the money, it is becoming a good bargain for inexpensive golf in BG.

Paradise Valley Golf Course
"Paradise Review"
An above average course with smaller greens. Some elavation changes but nothing major. Greens are true but not very fast. A chipper and pitchers dream. A few shortish par 4's that will tease the big dogs but look out for the hidden teeth. A challenge for sure but fun.

Sleepy Hollow Country Club - Eighteen Hole Course

As a Brit abroad, I was lucky enough to receive a couple of invitations to play here. The whole experience was outstanding, from the service at the club to the course itself. The clubhouse is one of the more impressive around (probably only improved upon by my home course in the UK!). The track itself was in excellent condition and, as with other Tillinghast courses, was a good strategic challenge, although not as 'man-sized' as say Winged Foot West and Bethpage Black. More playable for someone of my ability and therefore perhaps as enjoyable.

play here everytime I come to AZ, course is in great condtion and the girls who deliver food and snacks are gorgeous, keeps me coming back all the time.... very affordable rates too, if you want a fair but tough course then play here...never that crowded, I guess if you live in AZ this course is considered and easy place to play....I like easy... why makes things tougher...
