Cut out of a thickly wooded area, this course features very rolling design abounding with mature pine and birch. Plenty of native waste and marsh areas come into play, however, the three lakes on the course are mainly for aesthetic value. Although the fairways feature generous landing areas, the heavily undulated terrain provides for few even lies. The large greens are moderately contoured and play extremely true. One of the most challenging holes is #17, a 200-yard, par 3. From the elevated tee, the hole plays to a green surrounded by marsh on three sides. Sand bunkers to the left and a lake behind make it imperative to hit the green. The 6,067-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 74.8 and slope of 129. The 4,766-yard ladies' tee also has a men's course rating of 71.0 and slope of 121.

The course is the BEST in minnesota by far! The greens are magnificent and the course was in great shape overall! I would reccomend this course to any golfer, especially if you want a challenge.

Riverview is the perfect practice course when you don't have time for 18. It's long enough to be interesting and offers enough challenges to allow practice on all aspects of your game. "Tough Day"
I played this course with my brother,(scratch) on a Saturday in September 2003. We found it easily, we paid and went thru the rather surly starter and we were off, there wasn't much of a wait on the first tee. The first couple of holes were standard, it was a rather breezy day so I was really challenged to keep my ball on our the fairway.(this would be my problem for most of the round). Nice elavation changes, and the course looked great compared to it's neighbor,(whitetail). Dogs and beer at the turn. The back nine was just as nice as the front. Immaculate greens with challenging pin positions. Afterwards it was a couple of more beers and burgers at the lounge. Good food. If we had more time we would have gone to their fine dining restaurant, got a glance at their menu, looked really nice. great sunset too! Overall a great day.
