Green Knoll Golf Course

587 Garretson Rd
Bridgewater, NJ 08807
Phone: (908)722-1301

This course features tree-lined fairways and small greens. Water hazards come into play on seven holes. The somewhat sloped greens are medium-sized. Hole #17, a 387-yard, par 4, is quite a challenge with three creeks to circumvent. Par is a very good score on this hole. Hole #6, a 356-yard, par 4, can also cause problems with an elevated green and an approach shot that, even with a short iron, is never easy. A stream and trees are located on both sides of the green.

Green Knoll a garden course, Mar 05, 2009
reviewer: Anselmo Victoria from Bridgwater, NJ
Green Knoll is the busiest of the five Somerset courses. A good mixture of challenging holes and some holes that restores the golfer's confidence after taking a beating on holes like #8. Beware that this is a community centered course so weekends can be very slow. The best times for the weekend play are the very early tee times before 8:00 AM and after 2:00 PM. As an update, play starts on what was previously the back nine. The information on this website is significantly out of date, but the course remains a joy to play.

A Good Public Course, Jul 03, 2008
reviewer: Brian from Bridgewater, NJ
I learned to play Golf on Green Knoll back in the 80's and it's a course I will always call home. It's a beautiful piece of real estate smack dab in the middle of Bridgewater, I couldn't imagine the property anything else other than a golf course.

Great Course For A High Handicap, Sep 27, 2004
reviewer: Michael Delia from Tewksbury, New Jersey
The course is well cared for; the staff is attentive and knowledgeable. The course itself is well groomed with very fast beautifully kept greens. The fairways are generous and the rough is trimmed to a height that has even less than perfect shots hittable. There is a fine practice green but no driving range. More people walk the course than use carts, so the atmosphere is as relaxed as it gets on a New Jersey public course. The score card has great hole by hole pro tips that guide you through the course.

Nice course for beginners, Aug 12, 2004
reviewer: Jeremy from Middletown NJ
Green Knolls... not a bad little course. I enjoyed playing it, its definitely a great course to start on simply because the fairways are for the most pary straight and wide. The drainage on the course left a little to be desired, but overall was a very fun course

unimpressed, Mar 22, 2004
reviewer: Derek from Raleigh, North Carolina
Most of the holes on this course are too easy for this course to be taken seriously. An above average hitter can drive (or almost drive) many of the par 4's. Each nine toughes up after about 6 holes, i.e. holes 7,8 and 9 are decent. As are 16,17 and 18. The other 12 holes are almost all throw aways. The pace of play is torturously slow, with no rangers to be found. Many of the greens are shabby. Its inexpensive, and you get what you pay for.

good course, Feb 21, 2004
reviewer: Dave from Hillsborough, New Jersey
Green knoll is a challenging golf course for any advid golfer. Although after rain it tends to fill with mud and water it is a very nice gold course. This course just might be a little too much for first time golfers. The staff at Green Knoll do have the tendancy to be well lets say not very nice, or inviting.
