This course offers enough variety to challenge the most experienced golfer. The front nine is very hilly, and the back nine is more like a links-style course. The greens are very small, and the fairways are very narrow. There are water hazards that come into play on several holes. The course design includes a few dogleg fairways. The course is located at the edge of the Manasquan River.

Plays like two distinct courses, starting out with lush shaded hills winding down to rich coastal wetlands with river views. Natural beauty and wildlife abound. The greens are fast and the course presents a variety of interesting challenges. Bring extra golf balls if you think you can overpower the course. There are more water and wetlands than there are shortcuts on this course and distances are deceptive.

Played in May, what a terrific experience. The pro shop is like no other as well. The course was in great shape, greens very fast. Had a caddie which was very helpful (ask for "Tom the lawyer"). Club selection is key as wind on back nine off ocean make it difficult to gauge. 15th par 3 of 200 yards over water is beautiful. If you are invited, surely go!

As described, hilly front 9, blind shots, sidehill lies, fast greens...backside links style, flat but river and ocean breezes can wreak havoc...it has been re-rated and the rough grown to 5 inches...if you can play here, you can play anywhere. Apparently their members have won a number of NJ Amateur championships as well as participated in US Opens...speaks to the challenge of this layout.

"Great Private Course - Gem in CNY"
If you have a reciprocal with this course, you should take advantage. It's well maintained, with narrow fairways, and challenging greens. You need to have your iron game, because your second shot into most greens is critical. A bail out will cost you a stroke, as almost all holes have sand bunkers guarding the greens. Good fun for the ave golfer and player alike. A real Must Play.

Twin Hills Golf Course
"Short and well maintained"
Twin Hills is a short course - 6000 yards according to the card, and even that might be a stretch. The game starts on the greens here; they are among the most difficult in the area because of the undulations. The best holes are the par 3s. The facilities are barebones - no proshop, small and dated clubhouse. No frills golf, but they seem to have course maintenance down to a science.

Chaparral Country Club
"Basic golf outing"
In Bullhead City, the wind usually blows hard. This course is short, albeit somewhat challenging, because of the conditions played in. The fairways are unremarkable, the greens putt mostly true, although is tough to read. Usually putt the straight line and on the hard side to get them in. You won't need driver too often. Better than a kick in the head, but not the best golf around. Good practice.

Shawnee Lookout Golf Course
"Beautiful, Scenic, Challenging, HILLLLLLYYY"
I have played this course several times when traveling to the Cincinnati area and have found this gold course to be most scenic. First few holes are easy.. but this just to draw you into the ambush of trees, hills, water and rough that lie ahead. Very fun course to play. Nestled and secluded right in the corner of where three states meet, with views of the Ohio river and Great Miami River.
