Just don't get there late, Jan 23, 2009

| It's inexplicable to me that the only part of Steele Creek park that generates income closes earlier than the rest of the park. The staff turns away customers an unreasonable amount of time before sunset - usually an hour or more earlier than other courses in the area. Trying to squeeze nine holes in after work during the week is all but impossible unless you leave early.
Equally as frustrating are the inconsistent range hours. During the summer it's a coin toss as to how late the range will be open. Seems to be influenced as equally by the person working at the time (and perhaps their spouse's libido) as it is by the amount of business that day. |

worth the views alone, Jan 06, 2005

| Steele Creek is a small 9 hole course that is worth the scenery alone. I wish it were 18 the setting is so lovely. The people there are very friendly. I play this course several times a week and enjoy it immensley. As for the review from "foursum" maybe he should learn to spell first. I have been on this course when people were ejected for extreme slow play or destruction of property or some other foul behavior. I appreciated the way this was handled by the management. Management tries to be accomadating to all groups or individuals. Maybe "foursum" should have let some people "play through" and that would have solved his problem. Great course. |

Poorly Managed Course, Jun 24, 2004

| The ranger asked the foursum that I was in to leave the course because we were holding up the players behind us. Everyone in my foursum was average experienced golfers moving at an average foursum pace.
Upon checking we found a single player behind us, another single player behind her, third in line was a twosum and fourth in line was another twosum.
OFCOURSE A FOURSUM WILL HOLD THEM UP.
On a busy weekend, poor management allows singles and doubles on the course with foursums. Poor business is to eject paying foursums so the singles want be held up.
I'm still puzzled as to why the ranger had a set of clubs on his cart.
No more Steele Creek for this foursum. |
