This is a scenic course with many large oak trees lining the fairways. There are numerous hills, water hazards, and sand bunkers throughout the course. A difficult hole is #14, a 341-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot over a pond, then an approach shot to a very well-bunkered green.

This is a great course with reasonable rates. Its front nine is littered with oak groves on the last 4 holes, with the first four playing over/near the sugar river. Number one is about a 200 yard lay-up to the water, with a 50-75 yarder to the carpet. Their is another hole on the front, a Par 3 that plays over the water and over, around, or thru some trees-How ever you prefer to get there. The back is much newer than the front and has a totally different layout. It is wide open with some narrow fairways and a couple of long ones. The grass is a different kind(bent grass?) and is tight. It is a very well done nine with the greens and fairways always in good condition. One of the best courses within one hour of madison.

Walden Ponds Golf Club

I played in two outings at Walden Ponds golf club in 2003 and I found that the attention to detail was outstanding in both instances. The staff was extremely helpful and the golf course was one of the finest conditioned courses that I played in 2003 including private clubs. I highly recommend that you experience this golf course.

Experience at Koele, The
"Enjoyable golf in one of the world's greatest settings"
The Experience at Koele is a very nice Greg Norman designed layout that will having you often looking at the scenery in lieu of thinking about your next shot. One of two golf coures on the very upscale and exclusive island of Lanai, playing the Experience is a wonderful way to spend part of the day. The staff are very friendly and cater to whatever you need. Guests are there to have a good time and many people from around the globe find their way to Lanai to stay and play. When I played, the course was not quiet mature enough and, when mature, the golf course will be superb. It has been three years since then and I look forward to the next time I get a chance to stay on Lanai and enjoy again this course and/or the Nicklaus course near the ocean. If I only had one resort visit left in me, it would be to the Manele Bay Hotel and the island of Lanai. What more can I say.
