This is a scenic course with many large oak trees lining the fairways. There are numerous hills, water hazards, and sand bunkers throughout the course. A difficult hole is #14, a 341-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot over a pond, then an approach shot to a very well-bunkered green.

| This is a great course with reasonable rates. Its front nine is littered with oak groves on the last 4 holes, with the first four playing over/near the sugar river. Number one is about a 200 yard lay-up to the water, with a 50-75 yarder to the carpet. Their is another hole on the front, a Par 3 that plays over the water and over, around, or thru some trees-How ever you prefer to get there.
The back is much newer than the front and has a totally different layout. It is wide open with some narrow fairways and a couple of long ones. The grass is a different kind(bent grass?) and is tight. It is a very well done nine with the greens and fairways always in good condition.
One of the best courses within one hour of madison. |
