This public golf club offers two excellent eighteen hole courses. Wild deer, turkey and pheasant occasionally visit the fairways on this course, located in the midst of Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx. The Pelham Bay Course is a links-style design. The greens are undulating and medium in speed and size. No water comes into play, but there are several sand bunkers spread throughout the course. The signature hole on the Pelham Bay Course is #9, a 433-yard, par 4, requiring a shot to an extremely undulating green that is well bunkered. John Van Kleek redesigned the Pelham Bay Course in 1934. The Split Rock Course is quite difficult because it is very wooded and has tight fairways. A creek comes into play on four holes, and the terrain is rolling. The signature hole on the Split Rock Course is #18, a 392-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot around possibly America's oldest living White Oak tree.

Losing its touch, Jun 07, 2006
reviewer: Craig from Manhattan, N.Y.
Came to NYC area May of 04' and this Course has gotten worse each year. A tee renovation had one temp tee set up in front of a ball washer on a par 3....dah!!! The course is hairy. When do they cut? Truly not worth the green fees they're asking, and if the staff used a little common courtesy, maybe you could give in a bit. I'm done. Going where they used mowers!

Nice Public Course, Jun 05, 2004

Nice public Golf Course. Several tight fairways, but easy to play. Well kept grounds. Greens vary in size, slope, speed and difficulty.
