This is a very challenging course. Water hazards (five lakes) come into play on seven holes. The LPGA Minnesota Classic was held here in the past. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 2nd "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. In addition, "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 23rd best under the category of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses" in their 1996 list of "America's Best Golf Courses Everyone Can Play." The same publication rated it 33rd among the "Top 75 Public Courses" for 1990, and ranked it as the 14th "Best in State" course for 1995-96. "GOLF Magazine" awarded it 82nd best under the 1996 category of the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S."

Glen Garden Golf & Country Club
"History"
Glen Garden is a great place for Golfers of all ages. Playing on the course, it is easy to see how it produced such greats as Hogan and Nelson. They have the classic postage stamp greens. You must be accurate with your approach shot or you will miss the green. It is a great course for beginners as there are relatively few holes where a bad shot will lose your ball. The pace of play is very relaxed and the course staff are over the top friendly. The only down side to Glen Garden is that when it was built it was out in the country (1912?). In the 1950's Fort Worth grew and houses went up all around the course. Unfortunately these houses we small wooden houses and over the years it has become the bad side of town. There have been huge efforts by the local population over the last ten years to clean things up but it will take time. I highly recommend a visit to Glen Garden for any golfer. If you have an interest in history you will find it fantastic to consider you are walking on holy grounds.

"A fun course"
A local Lakeland course that lives up to it's advertisements! A little long from the middle tees for the average golfer but there is not a bad hole on the course. Lots of water and position golf is more important than the "grip it and rip it " mentality! I'd hope to get to play there again. It's worth the trip.

Fort Cherry Golf Club
"Better than Quicksilver...and cheaper too!!!"
When golf is mentioned around the area of McDonald/Midway/Pittsburgh and it's surrounding areas, most people think of Quicksilver. I urge everyone to play Fort Cherry Golf Club. The staff there treats you like real true people, and are there to serve you. Their gentle courtesey helped me to feel comfortable, even before i stepped forth on the golf course. The course itself is always in beautiful shape. IPrices are right; play is magnificant. I recommend Fort Cherry to all vistors and friends that I know are comming to the area.

This golf course is a pretty good course....it has some hills though, like every hill has a hole, not a very good beginniner course, but if ur looking for the challenge then go for it!
