  Slick greens. Spectacular views of Walloon Lake. Course in tradition of private northern Michigan courses. Tom Watson grew up playing golf during his summers.

  "Better accurate than long"
  Not a lot of distance required here, but you had better be accurate - both off the tee and on the approach. Beautiful setting inclduing occasional glimpses of the Ohio River; well maintained; friendly staff; beautiful clubhouse with excellent food. A real value.

  "in play for everyone"
  now days coarses are becoming longer and longer. this coarse is an exception to that rule. the challenge to this coarse are the greens. when freshly mown they roll at a 12 on the stemp meter. On many of the greens it is impossible to stop the ball if you get above the hole. There is no advantage to hitting the ball a long way. 300 yards off the tee here does not help you very much. The nice thing about this coarse is that older folks that can hit the ball straight can score as well as the young pups who hit the ball a ton. Great coarse for all ages.

  "For the price one heck of a deal"
  Much better than Fort Smith Country Club. The Fairways are great and the greens are wonderful. All for the front nine. The back nine is brand new. It is much more challenging but needs to grow in a little.
