This eighteen hole course is abundantly blessed with water throughout its layout, although water hazards only directly affect five holes. The greens are very undulating and require perceptive reading to be successful. This course, which was reopened by new ownership in 1997, has undergone drastic revamping. Tees, fairways and greens are meticulously maintained. The signature hole is #5, a 395-yard, par 4, which offers an incredible view of the river. The hole has a slight dogleg left fairway, which obstructs the view of a water hazard from the tee box. This is the most scenic hole on the course.

If your not in a hurry, STOP!, Mar 10, 2005

If you are traveling I 95, either to and or from Florida on vacation, I highly reccomend stopping and playing 18 Holes of enjoyable golf! Overshadowed by the islands and other resort courses, this gem will make you think your way around the layout and cause you to take a second look when reading the greens. If you have played other courses in the southeast coastal georgia area, you know from experience that 18 and a cart can get pricey, and that is why a lot of golfers continue, either on their way to florida and or home. You will be pleasantly surprised on just how affordable a challenging round of golf costs in the coastal low country of southeast georgia. YOU WILL MAKE THIS A REGULAR STOP, TRUST ME!

"Not bad..."
For what it is. Your not going to have clubhouse attendants or anything like that. But, all in all, for a nice, inexpensive day out on the course, you can't beat this place.

"Classic Donald Ross"
This course is short in yardage (6200), but plays much longer. One reason is that there are only 2 par 5's on a par 70 track. The par 3's are classic Ross. 3 of the 4 can play over 190 yards to postage stamp greens. There are a lot of down and up style par 4's, but there is also variety. Holes 10,11 and 18 are good examples of tough, well thought out par 4's that demand accuracy and thought. A four is an excellent score on all of these holes. The course is generally in excellent condition and has undergone some minor renovations. You will notice that the greens are exceptionally small, even for a Ross course. Greens are properly protected with bunkers and have just the right amount of undulation. One designer has stated that these are the smallest greens he has ever seen on a Ross course (which may be its claim of distinction among the many Ross courses). There is a premium on iron play and short game. Greens are quick, but not penal. Everyone thinks they can bring this course to its knees, but it usually is the other way around. The course can frustrate you if you expect too much too easily. This is what makes it such a wonderful place to experience the brilliance of Donald Ross. "A great fun course with a fun group of members"
Found this course a real enjoyment to play. The greens are fairly fast and challenging. Course was not overly difficult to walk. The layout was good. The back nine (9) has two par 5's back to back that will separate the 'men from the boys'. I played several days in a row and was accepted by the Men's club like a member. Looking forward to playing this course again this summer. Don't let its apperance fool you. This course is not flat..Play good course management.

Beautiful. Tons of trees, watch out with the driver. Large greens will test your putting ability. Staff is great, very customer service oriented. Great deal for the price. Bunkers need some help though.
