This target course has very large cedar trees lining its fairways and water coming into play on eight holes. Shot accuracy is at a premium in order to hit the very small greens. The most difficult hole is #2, a 435-yard, par 4, requiring a well-placed tee shot up a dogleg right fairway in order to have a clear approach shot to a well-bunkered green that slopes from back to front. Robert Muir Graves redesigned the original holes in 1988.

| This is a beautiful course, though it is impossible to play without losing a few balls to the scrub and water. However, there is a full-time marshall there, "Mike", who is an inconsiderate control freak with poor communication and people skills. We have stopped playing there as a result. I did hear from a fellow golfer that he has been "let go," so perhaps we'll give the Cedars another try, because I do love the natural openness of this course! |

| Very scenic course with friendly staff and reasonable fees. It has challenging holes with lots of trees, water and roughs. Front 9 is playable all year but tough to play the back 9 in the winter as the fairways get very soggy. |

| This is an Awesome course. It sets up well for most golfers with a high risk/reward layout. The course could be played tee to green with a 5 iron at par. Each hole sets up different than the last and is very challenging. |

| Very beautiful and interesting course most of the year. Very wet and sloppy in the winter;esp the back nine. Can be challenging with water hazards and nasty roughs. Nice chipping and putting greens. Staff is friendly though course marshall can be a grump! |

| Always the most interesting layout of the Portland area golf courses (the affordable ones, anyway) the new ownership has done a lot to bring this course up to its potential. The course will eat bad golfers for lunch, but if you don't bite off too much it is a very enjoyable and challenging layout. |

| Ignore most of what you read in the following reviews. The course has new owners and they have addressed most of what the complaints are. yes bring extra balls. The course is in great shape and a beautiful walk. |

| I've played many courses, but if you can do well on this course, you can play anywhere. It is not the greatest course to play during the winter or early spring due to water retention. You may want to bring a few extra balls, if it is your first time, due to trees, water and high grass. It is a pretty and quiet course. Number 9 is very challenging going across water and then up a very steep hill. Due to the challenge of this course, I will continue to play it. |

| Cedars is a great track and a challenge. The "once a month player" should not play Cedars. Cedars' management has recently put some extra time and money into the overall upkeep...however...some greens still need work (#2,#6, #11). If you can par #9 (par 5)...you'll feel like you've accomplished quite a bit in your golf game! |
