Quiet golf, Jan 21, 2005

Yes this course is out in the woods, but it is well worth the drive! It's a family run business and the entire family is VERY nice and helpfull.Very well maintained course and carts. The club house isn't fancy, no waiters in tux's pouring drinks for you, it's just a nice, quiet place to play golf. A good place for the beginner to learn.

I have played this course several times and hagve found it to be a great course. The owner is always out to greeet everyone and the course is perfect. Very well maintained with great grass throughout.

Found this course a real enjoyment to play. The greens are fairly fast and challenging. Course was not overly difficult to walk. The layout was good. The back nine (9) has two par 5's back to back that will separate the 'men from the boys'. I played several days in a row and was accepted by the Men's club like a member. Looking forward to playing this course again this summer. Don't let its apperance fool you. This course is not flat..Play good course management.

Throckmorton Country Club
"The Best Little Course in West Texas!"
This 9 hole course is the hardest little course I have ever played! If you think the Links is hard wait until you play this bad boy! The hardest hole would probably be #7. This par 5 may look easy when you step up on these elevated tee boxes but just wait until you tee off. Thats when the adventure begins. The second hardest would the #5. This par 4 dogleg right is probably the hardest par 4 on the course. Of course there are a few easy holes thrown in just so you don't lose your confidence. So if you are ever traveling through Throckmorton; be sure and stop to play "The Best Little Course in West Texas!"
