Located about an hour south of the quad cities (Davenport/Bettendorf/Rock Island/Moline), Spirit Hollow Golf Course opened for play in June 2000.Designer Richard Jacobsen combined a variety of styles, from links to tree-lined parkland, and has skillfully woven them into this once heavily wooded area.Golfers look down on long rolling fairways from numerous elevated tees. This par 72 course tops out at just over 7,000 yards.

GREAT EXPERIENCE, Oct 27, 2008

I used to live in Iowa and go back there a often as I can. When I do have the time I make it a point to play this golf course. It is an experience that true golfers enjoy. Many risk/reward oppportunities, beautiful scenery and great hole layouts. The greens are superb and quick, and the Senior (over 50) prices are almost too low to believe.

Spirit Hollow is a great course and well worth the drive from Morton Illinois. We have made the trip several times and will be there again this Friday.

Top notch Course at very reasonable price, Apr 29, 2004

A very nice course.. bent blade fairways, color GPS maps on carts, great service, great clubhouse, good variation of tee boxes based on skill level. Exceeds or equals other courses I have played at 3 times the cost of Spirit Hollow. It is a challenging course but also very fair. The architect of the course uses the lay of the land not only for challenging fun play, but great scenary as well. Well worth a few extra miles of travel to play.

Foss Park Golf Course

Don�t let this course fool you! If you play it from the blue tees it is a formidable challenge. There are some holes with tee shots that require a 200 yard carry over water (some days into the wind!) As well as a 190 yard plus par three with ponds and rivers all around it. The greens are nice and the grounds crew really works hard at keeping them that way. There are some narrow fairways guarded by 100 year old oak trees all the way down to the green on each side. It really plays more like a 126 slope and I believe it is rated incorrectly. Bring your straightest drives here.

Simply the best in worst greens, worst drainage and highest price! Can't be beat! Course maintenance? What the hell is that? It's not need here, cause crabgrass takes care of itself both on and off the greens.

"A great fun course with a fun group of members"
Found this course a real enjoyment to play. The greens are fairly fast and challenging. Course was not overly difficult to walk. The layout was good. The back nine (9) has two par 5's back to back that will separate the 'men from the boys'. I played several days in a row and was accepted by the Men's club like a member. Looking forward to playing this course again this summer. Don't let its apperance fool you. This course is not flat..Play good course management.

"Declining conditions"
Having played this course over the last ten years, I can't help but be dismayed by the declining conditions. It is a classic course that was consistently enjoyable until the last two years. In this time, the course condition, length of rounds and restaurant amenities have all gone downhill. I hope that they can turn this around because it is no longer worth the greens fee that they charge.
