This somewhat flat course is easy to walk. Locals say that some of the par 3's are extremely difficult. New greens were added in 1994. Water hazards (lakes) come into play on at least seven different occasions.

Although it is now 9 holes they seem to be taken better care of these 9 holes. The greens although small are in best shape I have ever seen. If you need a course to learn on or play with high handicapper's this is a gem then. Lot's of room to let them shoot on. Woman and young children learning the game should golf here.

This has now become a 9 hole course with the recent addition of condominiums taking up the back nine. The course is poorly maintained and the holes are not marked well, so if you haven't played it before, you don't always know where to go for the next hole. What makes the course harder is the poor maintenance and very small greens. All that said, it is a good course for seniors on a budget as it is very cheap and can be walked easily.

Del Monte Golf Course
"Del Monte -- Fun and touch -- old school"
Great course, classic layout, old style, just a wonderful golf experience. I've played Old Del Monte many times. It is a slightly shorter and yet just as fun older brother to several of the other Monterey/Carmel area courses. Oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River, it is close to the Monterey airport, close to hotels, and provides a wonderful, old-feel idea of what it was like to play on courses before big land movers shapped and sculpted the ground. It is fun to play, fun to hang around at the pro-shop/coffee shop. Just a really neat golfing experience.

This course is probably one of the nicest ones I've ever played! - I MEAN IT!!! The greens were very well kept, the clubhouse was delightful, and my wife loved your fairways! I played here, once,-back in the 60's, but it was quite different then. (To be honest it looks allot smaller, and I don't remember there being any Homes so near the course?) We WILL be back, this summer!

This course used to be one 1 star course but they have worked hard to make the course 2 stars. The greens are much nicer than a year ago. this course is good for learning the game, it's a very easy course.

I think this is a great course for beginners. Its inexpensive and forgiving in a lot of areas. No water hazards mean you won't lose a lot of balls. All and all a good course to practice on or to enjoy with a friend.
