This course has water hazards that come into play on at least nine separate occasions. The greens are fast and well bunkered. The fairways are lined by trees and vary in width, but most of them play straightaway. The finishing hole, a 175-yard, par 3, requires a tee shot to a green framed by water on three sides. There are no slope or course ratings for either tee.

Very short, not much of a challange...the worst part is back to back par 3's to end your day on 17 and 18...ridiculous!

"A South Florida gem"
This a great private golf course, with new TifSport fairways, TifEagle greens and new bunkering, all put in during the summer of 2002. Pete Dye's course is better than ever. The new gold (back) tees now play 6,616 yards with a 72.0/131 course and slope rating. This par 71 course is made up of narrow fairways, many tree-lined. Four par 4s exceed 400 yards with number 6 playing 442 yards and number 13 reaching 437 yards; tough holes by every standard. If you can find a member or locate a friend of a member, by all means make it a point to play this great South Florida golf course.

"what about the greens"
What makes river forest a difficult course is their greens.They can put the pin placements where it is possible to three and four putt greens even if you play it everyday.Slopping greens make every putt a challenge. They also have added a water hazard to #3 making it impossible to reach in 2.With the addition of new tee boxes and several holes with where you can knock it OB good luck for all you 10 handicappers to try and break 90 on you first couple rounds.
