This course, built on rolling terrain, features water hazards frequently coming into play. In addition, many of the trees lining the fairways can alter your shots. There is water on the right side of the greens on holes #3 and #13. Emil Loeffler and John McGlynn redesigned the original nine holes in the early 1920's, then Leonard Macomber designed the back nine and redesigned the existing holes in 1928. Since then, Ed Ault (1963) and Ferdinand Garbin (1986) have also done redesigns. Guests are not allowed to play on weekends. The ladies' par is actually 74.

This course has terrific tree-lined holes with character. It blends the length and shot-making requirements that make these 100 year-old golf courses so much fun to play. The par-three 10th hole is one of the best holes in the East. The greens are equal in speed and difficulty to Oakmont. If given the opportunity, make arrangements to play.
