This course has somewhat undulating greens and fairways. Willard Byrd is known for the many dogleg configurations he designs into a course and this is no exception. There are seven lakes on the course and waterfowl is abundant. The 6,641-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 71.4 and a slope of 120.

| On a recent trip to Myrtle Beach I went to play an old favorite. Much to my surprise the course was closed. I learned the owner closed the course to build houses. Calabash was one of the nicer courses in Brunswick County. It's to bad the owner cares more about money the golfers. |
